Women in Engineering

Welcome to Women in Engineering!
We have put together a list of profiles of many inspirational women engineers at Cambridge University Engineering Department (CUED). The following profiles show that women are forging successful paths at CUED in all branches of engineering and at every level.

We organise regular lunch-time events open to all across the University.

  • Women in Engineering Forum: Addressing Unconscious Bias
    Department of Engineering, 23th June2016
The Department of Engineering celebrated National Women in Engineering Day on June 23 with a forum on addressing unconscious bias and a visit from Cambridge TV to interview two female researchers about their work.
  • Women in Engineering Forum: Why do young successful women leave Engineering?
Department of Engineering, 11th February 2016
    (Chair of the panel discussion)

I am an Athena SWAN Charter committee member for Cambridge Engineering. The Athena SWAN Charter evolved from work between the Athena Project and the Scientific Women’s Academic Network (SWAN), to advance the representation of women in science, engineering and technology (SET). The Department of Engineering is committed to the principles of the Charter and wants to achieve an improved gender balance at all levels from student through to academic and research staff.
